Are you feeling a little Chistmassy? I know here in Africa it is the hottest time of the year and many of us have never even SEEN snow....but these snowflakes are truly beautiful decorations.
Put them on your tree, use them as a gift tag or sprinkle a few on your festive table. Stick them to a headband, on a bag... uses are endless. Check out the free patterns made available by Beautiful Crochet Stuff in this link. There are patterns for 5 different snowflakes, which can be made bigger or smaller depending on the yarn you use.
In our testers (pictured), we used crochet cotton no. 5 (similar to the lace weight yarn available in the store) with a 2.5mm hook - and they came out approximately 5cm across. Using a DK yarn with a bigger hook will make larger snowflakes, so play around and make a few.
